Hello, I'm Josh
Explore my passion for education, agriculture, and the next generation
Meet Josh
Josh loves listening to music, singing musical theater hits, writing his own songs and informative texts, designing graphic illustrations, and dancing in his bedroom. His go-to coffee drink is an iced Americano with three pumps of salted caramel, a splash of breve, and no water.
He earned his Master of Science in Horticulture at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, where he majored in Crop Physiology and minored in Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship while working as a Teaching Associate at the Institute of Crop Science. In 2018, he was admitted under the Agricultural Biotechnology program at the same institution. In 2020, he decided to shift to BS Agriculture because he fell in love with the practical and field activities that he could explore under the Horticulture-Plant Breeding major. Despite shifting, he managed to graduate in 3.5 years, cum laude. In 2023, he also passed the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists with a rating of 84.83%.
Towards achieving SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), he currently engages with outreach programs in local communities and schools in Laguna and some other provinces—educating young minds with technical knowledge, shedding light on the challenges facing Philippine agriculture, and empowering them to achieve food security.
Para sa Bayan, Agham, at Agrikultura (For the Nation, Science, and Agriculture)
I believe in the next generation. This video is not just a story that I want to tell, but a testimony to serve as an inspiration for everyone to take part in influencing and imparting knowledge to the Philippines' future agriculturists, researchers, and scientists—potential world changers!
This was my official entry to the Department of Agriculture's Agri-Youth Vlogging Contest as a part of the 1st Youth in Agriculture Summit with the theme, "Producing Leaders in Agriculture towards New Thinking." This was shortlisted as one of the top 10 entries nationwide.
